  • Add a table of contents to long documents.
  • Use page numbers.
  • Use the built-in tools to add footnotes, endnotes, and columns.

  • Avoid using the “Generate a description for me” option
  • Avoid using the “Mark as decorative” checkbox. Add alt text of “decorative” instead.

Objects, Graphs, and Equations

  • Avoid using text boxes, smart objects, shapes, floating objects, and the drawing tool.

Check Accessibility

  • Use the built-in Review > Check Accessibility checker.
  • Keep in mind that the accessibility checker is not perfect. Use your own judgment to ensure that your document is accessible.
